Connect your Gmail to Konvo
Sign in with Google and your support mail arrives as conversations. No forwarding rule, no DNS records.
If your support mail lives on Google, whether that is Google Workspace on your own domain or a plain Gmail account, connecting it is a sign-in and nothing else. No forwarding rule, no DNS records: Konvo reads and sends through Gmail itself, so replies leave from your own address from the first day.
What that buys in simplicity, it pays in volume. Gmail applies its own sending limits, around 2,000 messages a day on a paid Workspace account and lower on free or trial ones, and Konvo sends inside them.
Sign in as the right account
Sign in as the account you actually handle support from. The address you sign in with is the address your customers will see.
Sign in with Google, or forward: pick per address
- Signing in with Google works only for Google accounts. Two minutes, no DNS, and it is the right choice for most teams.
- Forwarding works with any provider or custom domain and scales past Gmail's limits, but it needs a forwarding rule plus four DNS records. See Forward any email address into Konvo.
The choice is per address, not per workspace, so support@ can be on Gmail
while returns@ is on forwarding. What you cannot do is switch an address from
one path to the other in place: you disconnect it and connect it again the other
way.
Connect it
Go to Settings > Channels and open the email setup.
Choose Gmail. Google's sign-in opens in a new tab.
Sign in as the account you handle support from.
Allow Konvo to read and send mail, then click Allow. Without that permission the connection cannot finish.
Google returns you, connected. Mail starts arriving as conversations.
If you land back with the wrong account connected, that is Google reusing the session it already had. Sign out of Google in that tab, then start again.
Name and signature
Set the display name and the signature for the address in its channel settings. The signature uses the Author name variable, which resolves to your agent's name when the AI replies and to your teammate's name when a person does, so one signature covers both cases. If you put an image in it, use PNG rather than SVG: some mail clients will not render SVG.
Turning your agent on for email
Connecting the channel does not put your AI on it. Open your agent, and in its settings tick Email in the channel list, then make sure Agent is live. From that point new email conversations go to your agent first.
If the connection drops
Google revokes access when the account password changes, when an admin removes the app, or when the account itself changes. Konvo gets that from Google, tells you, and pauses sending on the address until you reconnect, so nothing goes out from a channel that cannot deliver. Reconnecting is the same sign-in as above.
After you connect
- Replies show a name, not an address. Your agent's name when it answers,
your teammate's when a person does, never a raw
support@string. - A closed conversation reopens for 7 days. A customer replying inside that window continues the same thread. After it, their message starts a new one.
- Each Gmail address is connected on its own. There is no shortcut for the second one, the way there is on a domain you already authenticated for forwarding.
