Choose what reaches you
Nine events, three ways to be reached, set per person. Turning everything on is the same as turning nothing on.
Notifications are set per person, not per workspace, so what reaches you is your decision and does not affect anyone else. Your starting point follows your role, and then you change it in Settings > Notifications.
There are nine things Konvo can tell you about and three ways it can reach you, and the grid lets you pick any combination.
The three ways
- Sound. A sound the moment something lands. Useful when Konvo is open on a second screen while you work in something else.
- Desktop. A banner in the corner of your browser, even when Konvo is not the tab you are looking at. Your browser asks permission the first time, so allow it or this one silently does nothing.
- Email. Reaches you when you were away and genuinely missed something, and it holds back if you have already seen the item. This is the only one that finds you when you are not in Konvo at all, and it is worth checking it is switched on for the events you care about rather than assuming.
The nine events
Your own work
- New conversation assigned to you
- New message in a conversation assigned to you
- Snooze ended
- You are mentioned in a conversation
Work waiting for someone
- New message in an unassigned conversation
- AI hands off a conversation
- New input needed
- New task
Your workspace
- System alert, for things like a channel that has stopped receiving mail
What to actually turn on
Turning everything on is the same as turning nothing on, because you stop reading any of it. A setup that works for most people:
Sound and desktop for your own assigned work. These are the things where a fast reply is the whole point. Two at once is not overkill: the sound catches you when Konvo is behind another window, the banner tells you which conversation without switching.
Email for the three that come from your agent: input needed, new task, and AI hands off. These are the ones that go stale if nobody sees them for a few hours, because a customer is waiting at the end of each one.
Nothing at all for unassigned conversations, unless watching the queue is literally your job. In a team of five, this event fires constantly and means nothing to four of them.
System alerts on email, always. It is the one that tells you your email channel stopped working, and you want to hear that on a Saturday.
Choosing your sound
You can pick which sound plays and set its volume. Worth doing if more than one of you sits in the same room, since you can each choose a different one and know whose laptop just pinged.
